Exporters Economic Front-line Warriors: FCCI President

Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh stated that Faisalabad’s exporters, particularly those expanding markets in Africa despite challenging business conditions, are playing a vital role in strengthening the national economy and deserve widespread support.

Addressing a delegation of confectionery manufacturers and exporters, he acknowledged their perseverance in continuing their businesses and generating foreign exchange under difficult circumstances as the "economic front-line warriors" who merit recognition and backing from the business community and government alike.

He highlighted that Faisalabad’s confectionery products are being exported to African countries, aligning perfectly with the federal government’s "Look Africa" policy. He thus urged the government to prioritize addressing the challenges faced by exporters in the confectionery sector to further boost their export potential.

Sheikh emphasized the need for unity among business community members and proposed establishing a high-level committee at Faisalabad level, comprising representatives from FCCI, to tackle industry issues and enhance coordination between businesses and relevant government departments. He underscored the importance of a facilitative approach towards industries to safeguard exports, maintain employment, and enable businesses to contribute more significantly to economic growth.

Senior Vice President Naveed Akram Sheikh was present during the meeting.
