Health Experts Satisfied With Madhubala’s Progress; KMC Confirms Steady Improvement

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Sep, 2026) Doctors and veterinary health experts have shared an encouraging health update regarding Madhubala, one of the two resident African elephants at Karachi Safari Park, confirming that she is showing steady signs of improvement and continues to receive round-the-clock veterinary care and close medical monitoring.

Madhubala recently completed her year-long Anti-Tuberculosis (TB) treatment under the supervision and guidance of Sri Lankan elephant health specialists Dr. Rajapaksa and Dr. Buddhika. Following the completion of the prolonged treatment, her immunity was weakened, which affected her overall health condition over the past few days.

According to KMC officials, Madhubala is currently receiving 24/7 veterinary care and intensive monitoring from the veterinary team at Karachi Safari Park. Her health condition and recovery are being closely monitored in consultation with her specialist doctors in Sri Lanka to ensure that all necessary medical and supportive measures are provided.

The technical experts and veterinary doctors at Karachi Safari Park, KMC, are continuously assessing Madhubala’s condition and closely monitoring her vital health parameters. The veterinary team remains on standby to provide timely medical intervention whenever required.

The latest health assessments have revealed several encouraging signs of improvement. Madhubala is now able to stand independently without harness support, marking a positive development in her recovery. Her vital parameters remain stable, while she continues to maintain a good appetite and remains alert and responsive.

As part of her ongoing medical care, Madhubala is undergoing daily health assessments and blood tests, while X-rays of her hind quarters are also being conducted regularly. These diagnostic procedures are being carried out with the support of the Sindh Institute of Animal Health, enabling veterinary experts to closely monitor her physical condition and evaluate her progress.

KMC further stated that Madhubala’s dedicated keeper team remains with her around the clock. The keepers, who have been closely involved in her daily care, are working in close coordination with the veterinary team to ensure that she receives appropriate nutrition, care, supervision, and support throughout her recovery.

KMC officials said that all possible measures are being taken for Madhubala’s recovery, with the veterinary and keeper teams working continuously to provide her with the required medical attention and supportive care. Her condition is being monitored closely, and necessary adjustments to her care and treatment are being made in accordance with the latest medical assessments.
