Legal expert and analyst Rima Umar expressed her concerns on Geo News' programme Report Card:

"Look at the salaries and perks of Supreme Court and Constitutional Court judges while the country’s poor struggle; institutions are being run for political purposes and control."

She continued, stating:

"I have given up. I rarely talk about judicial independence and human rights now because it has become a joke in this country. But one thing is painful: the number of judges in the Supreme Court was doubled due to the overwhelming number of cases. You have established another Constitutional Court; look at the salaries and perks of its judges."

Umar further highlighted the excessive spending on these courts, stating:

"Look how much budget is spent on running these two courts. In a poor country whose people are struggling, these institutions are being operated and people are continuously recruited into them for political purposes and control. How public money is being used is itself a separate case study."
