Launch Ceremony of Zeeshan Qamar’s Debut Novel “Mazee” and Release of New Song “Mazee”

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 9, 2026) - The Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, hosted the launch ceremony of young writer Zeeshan Qamar’s debut novel, Mazee. The event was chaired by renowned poet and writer, Professor Sahar Ansari.

Speakers at the ceremony included Akhlaq Ahmed, Ambreen Haseeb Amber, Zaib Azkar Hussain, Nasira Zuberi, Zeeshan Qamar, and Shakeel Khan. A new song titled "Mazee" was also released alongside the novel during this event. The unique presentation of the book launch received enthusiastic applause from the audience.

In his address, Professor Sehar Ansari noted the encouraging trend of new writers experimenting with fresh approaches to novel writing. He praised Mazee for its important quality of fiction—readability—which is evident throughout the narrative. He highlighted the novel's exploration of themes such as love, philosophy, artificial intelligence, and human moral responsibility.

Author Zeeshan Qamar expressed that this event was not just about launching his novel but also a celebration of his identity, past, and experiences that shaped his personality and writing. He credited Orangi Town for providing him with close observations of ordinary people's lives by sitting at tea stalls, listening to their diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and understanding their experiences.
