LCCI Stresses Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship for Economic Growth
Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Promotes Market-Oriented Skills and Career Guidance
Lahore, August 20, 2026 (APP) – Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol emphasized the importance of empowering Pakistan’s youth with market-relevant skills, entrepreneurship opportunities, and career guidance. He made these remarks while addressing an awareness session on "Career Pathways and Entrepreneurship Skills" at LCCI.
Saigol noted that Pakistan’s young population, comprising around 65% of the total population, represents a significant economic asset. Effective integration of these youth into the mainstream economy is crucial for sustainable growth. The session also featured a presentation on the Tadbeer Portal, a platform aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs and job seekers.
Attended by notable figures such as Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Saleemah Khanum Foundation and Tadbeer Portal President, former Lahore College for Women University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farhat Saleemi, LCCI Standing Committee Convener Shamim Akhter, and representatives from civil society and youth organizations, the event highlighted the following key points:
- Pakistan’s abundance of natural and human resources, including fertile land, tourism potential, and a diverse industrial base, has not been fully leveraged for economic growth.
- Young people, with their innovative ideas and enthusiasm, can be the driving force behind economic transformation.
- The Saleemah Khanum Foundation’s Tadbeer Portal offers valuable resources for young entrepreneurs, startups, and individuals seeking career guidance and business opportunities.
- LCCI President Saigol encouraged the business community to mentor young entrepreneurs and guide them towards successful career paths.
- Embracing e-commerce, artificial intelligence, digitization, and social media can open doors for youth entrepreneurship and career development in the modern era.
The session underscored the collective responsibility of the business community, educational institutions, and civil society organizations to nurture and support Pakistan’s youth, ensuring they contribute to the country’s economic prosperity.
