Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Agriculture, Muhammad Umair inaugurated the state-of-the-art Geographic Information System (GIS) laboratory established at the Directorate General of Crop Reporting Services in Peshawar.

Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Agriculture, Muhammad Umair, inaugurated the newly established GIS lab, equipped with modern technology. The laboratory is poised to significantly strengthen planning and analytical capabilities within the agricultural sector.

During his visit, Umair inspected the lab’s sections and received a briefing from senior officials on its functions and potential. Present were Dr. Naveed, Director General Agriculture Extension, Samiullah, Director Soil and Water Conservation, and other relevant officers.
Additional Directives:
The Advisor also issued instructions to enhance farmer registration processes at Farmer Model Farm Service Centers, emphasizing the need for better coordination between agricultural officials and farmers.
Project Details:
As per Syed Altaf Ahmed Shah, Director General Crop Reporting Services, the GIS lab was established under the Food Security Support Project, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The project aims to strengthen data-driven agricultural management in the province.
