May 9 Case: Court Orders Seizure and Blacklisting of Meena Khan Afridi’s Passport

An Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court has ordered strict legal action against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial minister Meena Khan Afridi, who is wanted in cases related to the May 9 incidents. The court directed that his passport be seized and his name added to the blacklist.
According to reports, during the hearing, the Anti-Terrorism Court took serious notice of the accused’s continued absence and evasion of legal proceedings. The court observed that Meena Khan Afridi was deliberately avoiding participation in the proceedings and had remained absent repeatedly.
The court expressed strong displeasure over the provincial minister’s absence and immediately issued non-bailable arrest warrants against him. In view of the seriousness of the May 9 cases, the court directed relevant authorities to expedite legal action. It also ordered institutions to seize Meena Khan Afridi's passport and place his name on the blacklist to prevent him from leaving the country.
It may be recalled that Meena Khan Afridi is highly wanted by Islamabad Police in cases registered in connection with violent incidents, arson, and deterioration of law and order witnessed on May 9.
