Meeting Reviews Stock of Uplift, Administrative Initiatives in KP
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Aug, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah chaired the weekly review meeting on Monday, taking stock of development and administrative initiatives rolling out across the province.
Key Highlights:
- Beautification Projects: 69 beautification projects have been completed at the district level province-wide.
- Innovation Initiatives: Seven forward-thinking initiatives have been shortlisted and Deputy Commissioners are tasked with their implementation. These include youth digital skills training, "Umeed-e-Sehat" telemedicine, district digital marketplaces, mosque health desks, a community flagpole warning system, and measures to curb communicable diseases.
- Environmental Efforts: Several districts have initiated rainwater harvesting projects. Since June 28, 274 crackdown operations have been conducted against illegal tree felling, with 5,743 CFT of timber and 35,962 kg of firewood seized.
- Performance Ranking: A performance-based ranking of all Deputy Commissioners will be launched in August, tied to task completion.
- Infrastructure Developments in Peshawar: Work on the General Bus Stand is complete, and construction on the Northern Section of the Ring Road is nearing completion. The Kabotar Chowk underpass is also on track for completion.
