KHA Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Exhibition Women’s Hockey Match
Karachi Hockey Association (KHA) celebrated Pakistan’s 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour at the Olympian Hanif Khan & Dr Junaid Ali Shah Hockey Stadium in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Monday. The ceremony commenced with a cake-cutting ritual, followed by an exhibition women’s hockey match between KHA White Team and KHA Colour Team, ending in a 1-1 draw. Aisha Nadeem scored for KHA White, while Maheen Ali netted for KHA Colour. The match was overseen by Kashmala Batool and Rizean Khan.
Olympian Hanif Khan attended as the chief guest, praising KHA’s efforts and encouraging athletes to persist in promoting hockey and honouring the nation. The event concluded with a prayer for the country’s progress, prosperity, and peace.
