Minister Inaugurates Gas Pressure Improvement Project, Stresses Inter-departmental Coordination
SIALKOT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23rd Aug, 2026)
Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resources Punjab, Muhammad Manshaullah Butt said that in line with the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, all government departments must improve their performance and ensure the timely completion of development projects.
He expressed these views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Sui Gas Pressure Improvement Project, executed under the supervision of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), in Union Council Pakka Garha here on Sunday.
The provincial minister stated that development works carried out for the convenience and betterment of the public. However, he noted that if a department fails to ensure the rehabilitation of a road, street, or other infrastructure after completing the development work, the people have to face prolonged hardships.
He emphasized that effective communication and coordination among all relevant departments are essential during the planning and implementation of development projects to prevent repeated excavation and construction work at the same site.
Muhammad Manshaullah Butt directed the local authorities of SNGPL to ensure the complete rehabilitation of the roads affected by excavation after the laying of the gas pipelines. He clarified that merely filling the potholes is not enough; it is the responsibility of the concerned department to restore the road to its previous condition.
The minister also instructed the Municipal Corporation Sialkot to immediately repair the cuts made for laying the gas line on Khadim Ali Road and ensure the complete restoration of the infrastructure so that citizens do not face any difficulties in transportation.
He said that the residents of Pakka Garha, Deenpura, Mianapura, Jinnah Town, and Gulshan Town had been complaining about low gas pressure for a long time. The completion of this project will improve the gas pressure in these areas, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the citizens, he added.
Providing basic amenities to the masses is the top priority of the government, and the fruitful results of ongoing projects must reach the citizens directly, the minister maintained. He urged officers and employees of government departments to make the national spirit, sense of responsibility, and duty their motto, treating public service not just as a government obligation but as a national duty.
He reminded the officials that every government employee is accountable for their duties, making it vital to conduct all official affairs with honesty, sincerity, and responsibility.
The provincial minister concluded that better performance by government departments, mutual coordination, and the prompt resolution of public issues will not only restore the confidence of the people but also ensure a prosperous future for Pakistan.
