No Compromise on Rural and Urban Cleanliness Standards Under Suthra Punjab: Commissioner
Commissioner Lahore Division Nauman Yousaf on Wednesday visited Pooniki village and the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Pattoki to review the implementation of the Suthra Punjab sanitation campaign and inspect public healthcare facilities.
Visit to Pooniki Village
During his visit to Pooniki village, the commissioner reviewed cleanliness arrangements and interacted with local residents to gather feedback on the sanitation plan under the Suthra Punjab initiative. He issued on-the-spot instructions to the district administration, emphasizing that there would be no compromise on cleanliness standards. He stressed that the same level of daily sanitation should be maintained in both rural and urban areas under the Suthra Punjab programme.
Visit to THQ Hospital Pattoki
Later, the commissioner visited THQ Hospital Pattoki, where he reviewed cleanliness arrangements and healthcare protocols. He inspected various departments of the hospital, including the emergency, surgery, and medicine wards, as well as the medicine store and record of medicine supplies. He also met patients and inquired about the quality of treatment and the availability of free medicines, expressing satisfaction with the arrangements.
The commissioner also inspected the hospital’s washrooms and directed the administration to uphold the highest hygiene standards across all facilities. He warned of zero tolerance for poor cleanliness in hospitals, emphasizing the need for proper sanitation and hygiene in wards, canteens, parking areas, and other public facilities.
Nauman Yousaf stated that, in line with the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, regular inspections of hospitals across the division would continue to monitor the provision of quality healthcare services, cleanliness, and patient care.
