Overloading Control Measures Vital For Road Protection, Traffic Safety: Minister
Punjab Minister for Communication and Works (C&W) Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth has said that the Mobile Axle Load Management System, implemented for the first time in Punjab, would help effectively control overloading, protect road infrastructure, and prevent traffic accidents.
Mobile Weigh Stations in Action
Weigh stations have been operationalized in five districts: Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Multan, and Jhang. Regular axle-load checking of heavy vehicles and action against overloaded vehicles are underway.
The meeting informed that mobile weigh stations can be shifted to different highways based on requirements and are being deployed on routes frequently used by heavy transport vehicles traveling across the province.
