Pakistan Railways Records Historic Rs 115bn Revenue

Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi inaugurated newly constructed modern running rooms for loco pilots and guards on Saturday, announcing that Pakistan Railways has turned profitable for the first time in its 79-year history.
He revealed that transparent open auctions replaced previous leasing practices, doubling annual profits from Rs 8 billion to Rs 16 billion. Pakistan Railways recorded a total income of Rs 115.157 billion in the 2025–26 fiscal year.
Accompanied by Member of National Assembly Muhammad Khan Daha and senior railway officials, Abbasi inspected the solar-powered facility featuring air-conditioned rooms, a dining hall, a mosque, and a kitchen providing five-star comfort.
He shared a meal with pilots, emphasizing dedication and timely maintenance for locomotives. Loco pilots and guards expressed gratitude for the new facilities, lauding them as a significant step towards employee welfare.
