Philanthropists Donate Medicines Worth Rs 50 Lakh to LGH

LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) Philanthropists have demonstrated their trust in Lahore General Hospital (LGH) by handing over medicines valued at Rs 50 lakh to the hospital administration. These medicines will be distributed free of cost among OPD patients.

Dr Farooq Afzal’s Statement

Speaking at the ceremony, Principal Postgraduate Medical Institute Prof Dr Farooq Afzal stated that those who selflessly serve suffering humanity are the real beauty and valuable assets of society. He further emphasized that alongside government efforts, the support of affluent individuals for public hospitals is a commendable practice that provides immediate relief to poor patients and helps restore public confidence in state institutions.

LGH’s Commitment

Prof Farooq Afzal also mentioned that LGH is among Punjab’s major healthcare facilities, catering to thousands of patients daily. Such donations will ease the financial burden on the hospital administration and significantly improve the quality of treatment and care.

MS LGH Prof.Dr.Faryad Hussain assured that all donated medicines would be distributed with complete transparency exclusively to deserving patients. He added that the hospital pharmacy will provide uninterrupted medicine supply from 8 am to 8 pm daily for the convenience of more than 5,000 OPD patients who visit the hospital every day.
