Polio Drive Inaugurates; 1321 Polio Teams Deployed

Member Provincial Assembly (MPA), Sindh, Syed Farrukh Ahmed Shah and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sukkur, Nadir Shahzad, inaugurated a Polio Campaign here on Monday by administering polio drops to children at Health Center Abad Lakha.
On the occasion, Assistant Commissioner New Sukkur, Bushra Mansoor, District Health Officer Dr. Ali Gul Shah, PPHI District Manager Haider Ali, Medical Officer Dr. Ehsanullah Dayo, along with officials of Health, Revenue, and other concerned departments were also present.
Health officials informed that during the ongoing polio campaign, a target has been set to administer polio drops to a total of 3,23,334 children, for which 1,321 polio teams have been deployed. The deployed polio teams will visit households in urban and rural areas of the district to administer polio drops to children up to five years of age.
MPA Syed Farrukh Ahmed Shah stated that polio is a debilitating disease and cooperation from parents, civil society, and general citizens with polio teams is vital to eradicate the disease. He pleaded with parents to ensure their children up to five years of age receive anti-polio drops and offer full cooperation to polio teams. He stressed that comprehensive measures are being implemented by the government for polio eradication, and complete eradication is unattainable without public cooperation.
DC Sukkur also issued instructions to concerned departments and polio teams for the success of the polio campaign, directing them to fulfill their duties as per the set target and ensure access to children during the campaign. Health officials also briefed about the arrangements and measures taken for polio eradication during the campaign.
Subsequently, Syed Farrukh Shah and DC Sukkur also inaugurated a TB Center at the health center.
