Polio Eradication Campaign To Continue From Sep 21 To 25: Additional Commissioner Sukkur – UrduPoint
SUKKUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Sep, 2026) A meeting of the Divisional Task Force (DTF) was held via video link under the chairmanship of Additional Commissioner Sukkur-I, Dr. Muhammad Amir Ansari, to review preparations, arrangements and issues for September 2026 campaign at his office here Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioners of Sukkur, Khairpur, and Ghotki districts, District Health Officers, Divisional Polio Officers Dr. Jamil and Dr. Shumaila Rasool, and Program Data Officers Tanveer Ahmed Halio, Sadruddin Shaikh, and officers of other concerned departments.
During the meeting:
- Deputy Commissioners and District Health Officers of the three districts gave detailed briefings on preparations for the Special National Campaign against Polio (SNIDs) in September 2026, micro-planning, and other ongoing activities.
- The performance of the previous campaign, missed children, sensitive areas, and effective monitoring of the upcoming campaign were reviewed.
Dr. Muhammad Amir Ansari stated that the polio eradication campaign will continue from September 21 to 25, 2026. He directed the concerned district administrations and the Health Department to:
- Ensure adequate supply of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS), cold drinking water, and ice for all field teams deputed for the polio campaign due to harsh weather conditions.
- Focus on quality and coverage of the campaign in low-performing Union Councils, assigning separate monitors to ensure effective supervision.
- Give special priority to cold chain management during the polio campaign considering intense heat.
