Rain, Wind, and Thunderstorms Expected in Upper and Central Parts of the Country

ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News) – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms in Islamabad, the Potohar region, upper Punjab, Kashmir, upper and central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan on Wednesday. Isolated heavy rainfall is also expected in some areas.
The Met Office stated that hot and humid weather will persist in most parts of the country, potentially causing urban flooding in low-lying locations like Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Mardan, Swabi, Peshawar, Nowshera, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, and Lahore. Flash flooding and landslides are possible in vulnerable areas of Kashmir, Murree, Galiyat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Islamabad-Rawalpindi.
Rain and thunderstorms will affect several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, with isolated heavy rainfall anticipated in the Potohar region and northeastern Punjab. Similar conditions are expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Sindh and most parts of Balochistan are projected to remain hot and humid, though partly cloudy skies may emerge in some areas.
Recent Weather Conditions:
Widespread rain and thunderstorms were recorded in Islamabad and the Potohar region over the past 24 hours, with isolated rainfall reported in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Kashmir. Rawalpindi received the highest rainfall, totaling 118 millimeters at Shamsabad.
Temperatures remained high across several regions, reaching a peak of 45°C in Nokkundi, followed by 44°C in Dadu and Dalbandin.
