UAE athletes shone brightly on day two of the seventh IMMAF Youth World Championships at Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Arena, securing three medals for the host nation. A 12-fighter Emirati contingent in the Youth C category (ages 12 to 13) earned two silver and one bronze. Hissa Al Mutawa took home silver, while Mahra Al Azizi claimed bronze before a raucous home crowd.

The tournament, featuring over 1,100 competitors from 55 countries, runs until August 23rd.

Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, General Secretary of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, emphasized that testing local prospects against international fighters with diverse styles accelerates tactical development and decision-making under high pressure.

Wissam Abi Nader, Vice President of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation, highlighted the event’s tailored rule set, which prioritizes contestant safety while honing fight IQ.

Tournament action shifts to the Youth B division (athletes aged 14 to 15) on Wednesday, with nine UAE team members scheduled to compete over two days of thrilling bouts.
