SUKKUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) Regional Director, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Ahmed Ali Qureshi visited the Benazir Shaheed Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Model Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, here on Friday. He carried out a detailed review of medical and other facilities being provided to patients, treatment and rehabilitation services, staff attendance, and administrative affairs.
On the occasion, Incharge of the Center Dr. Murtaza Ali Shah briefed the Regional Director on the institution’s performance, patient care, and available facilities. He informed that the Anti Narcotics Force, Government of Pakistan, in cooperation with the Government of Sindh, has established five rehabilitation centers in the province to provide medical treatment to drug addicts and help them overcome addiction – three in Karachi, one in Hyderabad, and one in Sukkur.
He said that currently 20 patients are under treatment at the Sukkur center, where they are being provided treatment, medical assistance, and rehabilitation facilities.
Regional Director Ahmed Ali Qureshi directed that quality medical facilities and effective rehabilitation services must be ensured for patients under treatment. He also stressed further improvement in cleanliness, staff attendance, and administrative matters.
Later, the Regional Director visited the PPHI Government Dispensary, Dreha, where he reviewed medical facilities being provided to patients, staff attendance, availability of medicines, and cleanliness. The doctor and paramedical staff on duty briefed him about OPD, vaccinations, and other medical services.
On the occasion, Qureshi said the Primary objective of the Provincial Ombudsman is to address public grievances and ensure effective monitoring to improve the performance of government institutions. He directed the concerned officers to further improve public service delivery and take effective measures for immediate resolution of problems faced by citizens.
