Regional Director Ombudsman Sindh Visits Rehab Center and PPHI Dispensary

Regional Director, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Ahmed Ali Qureshi visited the Benazir Shaheed Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Model Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, here on Friday.
He conducted a detailed review of medical and other facilities provided to patients, treatment and rehabilitation services, staff attendance, and administrative affairs.
Incharge of the Center, Dr. Murtaza Ali Shah, briefed the Regional Director on the institution’s performance, patient care, and available facilities. He informed that the Anti Narcotics Force, Government of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Government of Sindh, has established five rehabilitation centers in the province to provide medical treatment to drug addicts and aid them in overcoming addiction – three in Karachi, one in Hyderabad, and one in Sukkur.
Currently, 20 patients are under treatment at the Sukkur center, where they receive medical assistance, rehabilitation facilities, and quality treatment.
Regional Director Ahmed Ali Qureshi directed that quality medical facilities and effective rehabilitation services must be ensured for patients under treatment. He also emphasized further improvement in cleanliness, staff attendance, and administrative matters.
Later, the Regional Director visited the PPHI Government Dispensary, Dreha, where he reviewed medical facilities, staff attendance, medication availability, and cleanliness. The doctor and paramedical staff on duty provided him with information about OPD, vaccinations, and other medical services.
Qureshi stated that the primary objective of the Provincial Ombudsman is to address public grievances and ensure effective monitoring to improve the performance of government institutions. He directed concerned officers to further improve public service delivery and take immediate measures to resolve citizen’s problems.
