RPO Dismisses Two Police Officials Over Power Abuse, Flawed Investigation

FAISALABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 22nd Aug, 2026) Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail Akhtar Sukhera dismissed two police officials from service on charges of poor investigation and abuse of authority.
According to the spokesperson on Saturday, departmental proceedings were initiated against:
- Inspector Hafiz Abdullah Jappa, Station House Officer (SHO) of Saddar Jhang police station, over flawed investigation procedures and exceeding his official authority. He was initially demoted from Inspector to Sub-Inspector before being dismissed.
- Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ghulam Rasool, also stationed at Saddar Jhang police station, was separately dismissed after departmental inquiries established that he had abused his powers.
Reiterating a zero-tolerance policy against corruption and negligence, RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera stated that there is no room in the department for incompetent or corrupt elements, adding that strict accountability and departmental action will continue without discrimination across the region to ensure discipline and safeguard public welfare.
