Pakistan (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News, 20th Aug, 2026)

Railways will restore the Sandal Express from August 21, 2026, reviving a long-suspended rail link expected to provide an affordable and convenient travel option for passengers in Sargodha and surrounding areas.

According to the new railway timetable:

  • Sandal Express (140 Down) will depart from Sargodha at 3:35pm.
  • Train 139 Up will leave Multan at 6:30am and reach Sargodha at 1:20pm.

The restoration has been welcomed by citizens, particularly students, businesspeople, employees, and other passengers who rely on affordable public transport for travel between Sargodha, Multan, and intermediate destinations. They express hope that the restored service would operate regularly and on schedule, with adequate passenger facilities maintained.

Citizens also believe the revival of the Sandal Express could help restore passenger activity and associated commercial opportunities around railway stations. They urge Pakistan Railways to ensure the service’s continuity and improve basic facilities to meet passengers’ needs and expectations.
