Federal Ombudsman Resolves 160 Complaints in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point NewsAug 20, 2026) Regional Head and Adviser of the Federal Ombudsman Regional Office, Bahawalpur, Shaukat Mahmood heard more than 160 complaints against various federal government departments, resulting in financial relief worth millions of rupees for affected citizens.

According to an official press release issued here, the complaints involved the Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO), Pakistan Postal Life Insurance (PLI), Pakistan Railways, and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), among other departments. The complainants raised issues including:

  • Excessive and incorrect electricity bills
  • Electricity meters and connections
  • Insurance claims
  • Pakistan Railways matters
  • FIA-related complaints
  • Other administrative issues

During the hearing, Shaukat Mahmood listened to the complainants as well as representatives of the concerned departments and examined the cases individually. He issued necessary directions to the relevant departments for the prompt and effective resolution of the complaints, according to the press release.
