SMEDA Chief Envisages Promising Future for Printing Industry, MSMEs
SMEDA (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority) Chief Executive Officer Nadia Jahangir Seth believes that Pakistan’s printing and signage industry holds immense potential to become a powerful driver of innovation, entrepreneurship, and MSME-led economic growth. She made these remarks while addressing the 9th International Digital Printing & Signage Exhibition in Lahore on August 21, 2026.
Seth emphasized the industry’s transformation through digital and creative solutions, opening new avenues for enterprises to innovate, expand, and compete globally. The exhibition, she noted, showcased the industry’s entrepreneurial spirit and its embrace of new technologies and business models.
SMEDA’s Role:
Noting Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s vision for inclusive and sustainable economic growth, Seth mentioned SMEDA’s efforts under Haroon Akhtar Khan, PM’s Advisor on Industries, to create an enabling environment for MSMEs. These initiatives include:
- MSME Formalization: Through the SME Registration Portal (SMERP).
- Financial Access: Improving access to finance.
- Digital Adoption: Promoting digital solutions.
- Quality and Standards: Enhancing product quality and standards.
- Market Access: Expanding domestic and export market opportunities.
Collaborative Growth:
Seth highlighted the need for stronger collaboration among SMEDA, industry associations, technology providers, financial institutions, and enterprises to address sector-specific challenges and enable small businesses’ growth.
Fact Exhibitions CEO Saleem Tanoli described the event as a platform bringing together key players from the printing and signage industry, technology providers, manufacturers, distributors, and entrepreneurs.
