UAE Adds One More Medal at IMMAF Youth World Championships, Taking Overall Tally to 18

The UAE Mixed Martial Arts National Team celebrated another achievement as Maryam Almutwa secured a bronze medal in the Youth B Women’s 52kg division, pushing the nation’s overall tally to 18 medals. This includes six gold, five silver, and seven bronze at the IMMAF Youth World Championships in Abu Dhabi.

Over 1,100 athletes from 55 countries are participating in this global sporting event. The championship concluded the fourth day of competition for Youth B athletes aged 14-15, with Youth A competitions for 16-17-year-olds set to begin on Friday.

Mohammed Jassim Al Hosani, a member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation’s Mixed Martial Arts Committee, emphasized the championship’s significance in fostering future stars of the sport. He noted that hosting such events in Abu Dhabi not only attracts athletes but also enhances the city’s reputation as a premier sporting destination.

Abdullah Mohammed Al Jabareen, coach of the UAE National Team, praised his athletes’ dedication and perseverance during their preparation. "They stayed focused and followed their game plans under pressure," he said, acknowledging that this experience will benefit them in future competitions.

Maryam Almutwa, reflecting on her performance, expressed gratitude for her coach’s guidance: "I remembered my coach telling me to stay focused until the end… I tried to stick to my plan and keep going."
