ABU DHABI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 15th Sep, 2026) The UAE–India Defence Industry Forum kicked off today in Abu Dhabi, showcasing the burgeoning collaboration between the two nations in defence and industrial spheres.

Organised by the Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement, in partnership with the Embassy of India in the UAE and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), this forum presents a platform to advance dialogue and explore common interests across both sectors.

  • Attendees: The event drew prominent figures including Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of Tawazun Council; Dr. Deepak Mittal, Ambassador of India to the UAE; AVM Arvind Verma, Vice President (Exports) at Zen Technologies and SIDM Delegation Leader; government officials; and representatives from leading UAE and Indian defence companies.
  • Strategic Significance: The forum underscores the strong strategic ties between the UAE and India, highlighting their shared commitment to bolstering defence and industrial partnerships.
  • Focus Areas: It featured presentations showcasing the capabilities of the Indian defence industry, with Indian companies introducing their businesses, technical expertise, and potential collaboration areas with UAE entities.
  • Bilateral Meetings: Company representatives from both nations engaged in bilateral discussions, exploring opportunities in manufacturing, research & development, advanced technologies, and supply chains.

Shareef Hashim Al Hashemi, Director-General of Industry Development at Tawazun Council, emphasized:

"The Forum represents a tangible step towards translating the strategic relationship between the UAE and India into concrete industrial and defence cooperation opportunities. We aim to connect companies and capabilities in both countries, identifying areas where partnership can yield significant value."

He further noted, "India boasts an advanced industrial, engineering, and technological base while the UAE is developing its defence industrial ecosystem. We see great potential for partnerships that span manufacturing, R&D, technologies, and supply chain development."

Ambassador of India, Dr. Deepak Mittal, in his address, highlighted the evolving defence relationship between India and the UAE.
