A video of an Islamabad police officer allegedly demanding a bribe has circulated widely on social media, revealing the official's negotiation of money instead of enforcing the law.
Details:
A mobile phone video shows an Islamabad Police officer in a blue shirt and scarf, stopping a car on the road. Instead of taking legal action, he leaned into the vehicle’s window and began asking for a bribe.
In the video, the officer bargains with the citizen:
"Feed me some food—just give me three or four thousand, not more—you are like a brother."
"Otherwise, the fine is four thousand rupees, but give me three thousand; nothing will happen."
The video clearly depicts the police officer returning the driver’s documents after checking them. He calls the citizen “brother” and offers him a discount while simultaneously demanding money. The driver, however, cleverly recorded the entire conversation and the demand for payment on his mobile phone.
The video has gone viral across major social media platforms.
