Police have arrested 18 gamblers and recovered Rs963,000 in stake money, along with 21 mobile phones, during a crackdown in Rawalpinto on Friday.
(According to police spokesperson, the suspects were held during an operation in Chaklala police station’s jurisdiction.) A case has been registered against them, and they have been taken into custody.
Superintendent of Police Potohar, Chaudhry Asar Ali, commended the police team, stating that gambling is a root cause of many social evils. He promised continued strict action against such antisocial elements without discrimination.
