Suspected PO Injured, Arrested In Kabirwala Police Encounter
KHANEWAL, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) A suspected criminal was injured and arrested following an exchange of fire between police and two suspects during a checking operation at 8-Kassi Chowk on Mahni Sial Road, police said on Friday.
According to police, a Sadar Kabirwala Police team signalled two men riding a 125cc motorcycle to stop during the operation. The suspects allegedly opened fire on the police party, prompting officers to take cover behind their official vehicle and return fire in self-defence.
After the firing ceased, police searched the area and arrested one of the suspects, who had sustained gunshot injuries allegedly caused by his accomplice during the exchange of fire.
The arrested suspect was identified as Khizar Hayat alias Khizri, son of Sardar, a member of the Shadianah community and a resident of 87/15-L. Police said he was a previous record-holder and an A-category proclaimed offender wanted by Sadar Kabirwala Police.
The injured suspect was shifted to THQ Hospital Kabirwala through Rescue 1122 for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, police teams launched raids at various locations to apprehend the second suspect, who fled the scene, police said.
