MULTAN (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) The Multan Division emerged victorious in the Inter-Divisional Independence Day Baseball Championship, defeating Bahawalpur Division by seven runs in the final held at the sports Complex Multan.
Organized by the Sports Department Multan Division in collaboration with the Punjab Baseball Association as part of Independence Day celebrations, the tournament featured teams from Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions.

Opening Match: Multan Division edged out Dera Ghazi Khan Division by one run. Multan scored six runs with contributions from Salman and Khawar (2 runs each), Muhammad Asad, and Muhammad Salman Junior (1 run each). Dera Ghazi Khan responded with five runs, with Ahsan, Armaghan, Ikram, Amanullah, and Rehan (1 run each).

Second Match: In a close game, Dera Ghazi Khan scored six runs, led by Armaghan, Ikram, Ahsan, Rizwan, Umar, and Shahbaz (1 run each). Bahawalpur Division countered strongly, securing a seven-run victory and progressing to the final. Waqas and Usman (2 runs each), Owais, Shahbaz, and Shehzad (1 run each) were the top scorers.

Final: Multan Division delivered an impressive performance, amassing 10 runs. Asad, Asif, Zeeshan, Salman Junior, and Salman Ali (2 runs each), Wasi, and Umar (1 run each) contributed to their victory. Bahawalpur Division struggled to score, managing only two runs from Waqas and Shehzad, resulting in a convincing seven-run win for Multan.
