33 Candidates File Nomination Papers For NA-168 Bahawalpur By-election
BAHAWALPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) Thirty-three candidates have submitted nomination papers to contest the by-election for National Assembly constituency NA-168 Bahawalpur, depositing a total of Rs990,000 in nomination fees with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), according to official sources.
The by-election is being held following the death of MNA Malik Iqbal Channar, which left the seat vacant. Under election rules, each candidate was required to deposit a nomination fee of Rs30,000. With 33 candidates filing papers, the total amount collected stands at Rs990,000.
The scrutiny of nomination papers and subsequent stages of the electoral process will follow the schedule issued by the ECP, officials said.
