Attock-Fateh Jang Road Restoration Launched After Mini-bridge Collapse

UrduPoint (August 20, 2026) – The district administration and Communication and Works Department have launched an emergency operation to restore traffic on the Attock–Fateh Jang Road after a mini-bridge collapsed. Heavy machinery has been immediately dispatched to the site.

Punjab Minister for Communication and Works, Malik Sohail Ahmed Bharth, stated that the C&W Department had acted swiftly, with machinery reaching the affected location and repair work commencing without delay. He expected the road to be reopened within an hour, adding that he was in constant contact with the field formation to oversee the restoration process.

Dr Mudassir Ahmed Shah, Deputy Commissioner Attock, visited Fateh Jang city to assess the situation and the response of the Roads Department and local administration. Ahsan Ali, Assistant Commissioner Fateh Jang, briefed Dr Shah about the restoration project, machinery deployment, and repair progress.

The deputy commissioner directed officials to ensure close coordination and prioritize the restoration work to minimize disruption for commuters and transporters. He requested regular updates on the operation’s progress and emphasized utilizing all available resources to restore the vital road link as soon as possible.

The minister assured that the damaged crossing would be repaired swiftly, with traffic restored once the route is safe for vehicular movement. The administration stated that district authorities and C&W officials were closely monitoring the emergency repair work to ensure timely completion.
