BBC DJ Trevor Nelson Reveals Brain Tumour Surgery ‘Went Well’
British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) DJ and presenter Trevor Nelson has shared that he successfully underwent brain tumour surgery.
Nelson, who stepped away from his radio show in June due to health issues, announced on Instagram that a brain tumour was discovered, leading to "very serious" surgery. He assured followers that the procedure "went incredibly well."
Here’s what he had to say:
There’s been a lot of speculation as to what’s wrong with me… I’m not going to go into it all now and I will deep dive into it at a later date so you can hear the full story.
…I was minding my own business and then it was discovered I had a brain tumour. I was shocked, my world was turned upside down…
Nelson revealed he’s been recovering at home since the surgery last month, feeling "great right now" and "ready to come back." He enjoys activities like playing golf and going to the gym again.
His colleagues, including Zoe Ball and Clara Amfo, sent their well wishes on social media. The Brain Tumour Charity also commented, offering support.
Nelson, who celebrated 30 years at the BBC this year, started his career at Kiss FM before moving to Radio 1 in 1996.
