China’s Humanoid Robot Shipments Top 40,000 in H1 Amid Factory Push

BEIJING, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) – China shipped over 40,000 humanoid robots in the first half of 2026, accounting for 97 percent of the global total, according to Zhang Feng, head of a national humanoid robotics industry group. This figure is a significant jump from 14,400 units shipped in 2025, which represented 84.7 percent of the global total.
The report, presented at the World Robot Conference (WRC) in Beijing, highlights the rapid growth of the industry. Chinese manufacturers, as per Zhang, now have the capability to produce every component of a humanoid robot, from key chips to complete machines. Applications are evolving from small-scale trials to larger-scale, routine deployments in various sectors.
Company filings provide insights into this growth. Unitree’s listing prospectus reveals they built 5,716 humanoid robots in 2025, shipped 5,511, and recorded sales of 5,215. UBTECH’s annual report shows revenue of approximately 820 million Yuan from their full-size humanoid robot products and services category in 2025, with a production capacity of over 6,000 units by year-end.
The robots have found applications in automotive manufacturing, smart manufacturing, smart logistics, and embodied-intelligence data centers. At the WRC, robotics companies demonstrated robots handling logistics tasks, such as sorting and assembling parts on trial production lines, alongside their athletic and dancing routines from previous years.
