CM Calls For Religious Harmony, Tolerance And Brotherhood
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has stated that no religion advocates or condones violence, emphasizing that no civilized society can tolerate violence against followers of different faiths.
In her message on the International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief, she noted that violence stemming from religious differences is highly condemnable. She cited the targeting of Muslims as an example of rising Islamophobia.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted the enduring persecution of Muslims in Kashmir and Palestine due to their religious beliefs. She affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to equal respect for all religions and beliefs, emphasizing that all citizens are considered equal without discrimination.
The CM promised a firm response to any attempts to harm minorities, reiterating the Punjab government’s dedication to promoting religious harmony and tolerance. She called for love, tolerance, and brotherhood within society, asserting that those advancing religious hatred and discrimination must be defeated.
She appealed to the public to stand against violence and prejudice, actively contributing to a peaceful and secure society.
