Commissioner Reviews Rawal Dam Filtration Plant Operations
RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Salman Ghani, on Friday visited the Rawal Dam Filtration Plant and reviewed arrangements for providing clean drinking water to citizens.
Briefing on Filtration Plant and Water Supply System
The commissioner received a detailed briefing on the capacity of the filtration plant and the water supply system. He stated that the plant would be highly beneficial for residents of nearby localities, playing an important role in meeting their drinking water needs.
Appreciating WASA’s Performance
Appreciating the performance of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Salman Ghani directed that the filtration plant operate at its full capacity to ensure uninterrupted and high-quality drinking water supply to citizens.
He instructed the concerned authorities to regularly monitor water supply projects, installations, and maintenance, ensuring timely repair of the filtration plant and other facilities.
Prevention of Water Wastage
The commissioner also emphasized the need for an effective mechanism to prevent water wastage and immediate repairs of leakages. He stressed regular testing and continuous monitoring of water quality.
"Provision of clean drinking water is among the top priorities of the district administration," he said, directing that water requirements of nearby communities be regularly reviewed and the water supply system improved accordingly.
Coordination and Transparency
He instructed all relevant departments to work in close coordination, ensuring quality, transparency, and timely completion of public welfare projects.
Salman Ghani assured continued regular monitoring of WASA‘s performance and other relevant departments to ensure better and uninterrupted water supply to citizens.
