DPO Chiniot Holds Open Court At Mosque To Promote Community Policing
CHINIOT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to promote community policing, District Police Officer (DPO) Chiniot Dr. Naveed Atif organized an open court at Jamia Masjid Fatima near Deen College Chiniot on the occasion of Jumma Mubarak.
SHO Saddar, In-charge Complaint Cell, other police officers, and a large number of worshippers attended the session.
The DPO listened to the problems of citizens and assured them of resolution. He directed concerned officers to ensure immediate redressal of grievances. The Complaint Cell was further instructed to process all requests and submit a follow-up report for effective action.
During the open court, Dr. Naveed Atif briefed participants about various services of Punjab Police and informed citizens about new traffic rules. He emphasized the importance of implementing traffic laws.
Addressing the gathering, the DPO stated that holding open courts in mosques aligns with the Sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and facilitates direct resolution of public issues while promoting community policing. He urged citizens to report social and moral evils as well as criminal elements to the police. He assured that complaints would be registered and their redressal ensured.
He added that protecting lives, property, and maintaining law and order are top priorities, with steps being taken to enhance public service delivery through optimal resource utilization.
