Contractor Firm Blacklisted For Two Years On Failure To Complete Road Rehabilitation Project

The Municipal Corporation Multan (MCM) has blacklisted a contractor firm for two years over repeated delays and failure to complete a major road rehabilitation project despite multiple notices. The project, worth Rs317.16 million, involved rehabilitating roads from Sial Hotel to Hussainian Chowk, Ghaziabad Chowk, and Shah Badr Road.

A spokesperson stated that the firm did not meet the agreed deadlines, leading to persistent delays and a violation of contractual obligations. As a result, authorities forfeited the contractor’s performance security. This action marks the first-ever blacklisting of a contractor by MCM for failing to complete a development project.

In light of the above, it’s important to note that this is not an exhaustive list of consequences for contractual failures.
