GCU Hyderabad Awards Degrees to Students at 3rd Academic Convocation

GCU Hyderabad held its Third Convocation on Wednesday, honoring 448 graduating students with degrees, comprising 432 undergraduate and 16 postgraduate scholars.

Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, served as the chief guest, presenting the degrees to the new graduates alongside Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Moazzam Ali Khan.

During his address, Mr. Rahoo congratulated the university on its successful convocation, highlighting the institution’s rich history in Sindh education. He expressed optimism for GCU Hyderabad’s future growth and progress in teaching, research, and institutional development. Noting the government’s commitment to higher education, he emphasized the right of every student to access quality education.

Congratulating the graduates, Mr. Rahoo acknowledged the sacrifices made by their parents, who had played a vital role in their academic achievements. He urged the young men and women to continue pursuing knowledge and use their education for societal advancement.

Prof. Dr. Moazzam Ali Khan, in his speech, congratulated the graduating students and postgraduate scholars, extending well wishes for their future endeavors. He emphasized the significance of this occasion, not just for the students but also for their parents and teachers who had supported them along the way.

According to university statistics, degrees were conferred upon:

  • 432 students from the BS (Batch 2022) program across various faculties:
    • Natural Sciences: 164
    • Computing and Information Technology: 147
    • Social Sciences: 74
    • Arts and Humanities: 47
  • 16 students from MPhil, MS, and MBA (Batch 2023) programs.

A total of 15 students received gold medals, 18 silver medals, and nine bronze medals based on their academic performance.

Secretaries Universities and Boards, Mr. Moin uddin Siddiqui, was also in attendance.
