Govt Takes Measures To Mitigate Flood-related Losses: Senate Told

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan on Thursday stated that the government has implemented coordinated strategies to reduce flood-induced losses and support the recovery of rice, maize, and potato exports.
In response to a query in the Senate, the minister revealed that the Export Enhancement Roadmap for Agriculture and Food Processing has been approved, aiming to increase agrofood exports from USD 7.1 billion to USD 13 billion by 2029-30. He added that the Ministry of Commerce is finalizing an implementation plan with defined actions and timelines in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Furthermore, the ministry and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) have been assisting exporters of rice, maize, and potato in participating in trade exhibitions and promotional activities both within Pakistan and abroad.
