Husband Arrested For Allegedly Killing Wife, Staging Mountain Fall In Kaghan
KAGHAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Aug, 2026) Police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife by hitting her on the head with a stone and later staging her death as a mountain fall in the Dheri Manwar area of Kaghan.
Police stated that the victim, identified as the wife of Rustam son of Daplazir, who married against her family’s wishes around 10 months ago. Her family had reportedly severed ties with the couple following the marriage.
According to police, the woman’s family was informed on August 12 that she had fallen from a mountain and died. However, an investigation revealed that she had been struck on the head with a stone and killed, while the incident was presented as an accidental fall.
The alleged motive behind the murder was reportedly Rustam’s second marriage. The victim’s brother also told police that Rustam subjected his sister to cruel treatment.
SHO Kaghan Sadaqat Khan, along with a police team and investigators, reached the remote crime scene after nearly four hours of walking and collected evidence.
The police subsequently arrested Rustam, who allegedly confessed to the crime during interrogation and identified the crime scene. The accused was produced before a court where he reportedly admitted to the murder. He has been sent to jail on judicial remand for further legal proceedings.
