ICCI to Support Youth Parliament in Developing Future Leaders

ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Aug, 2026) Acting President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Chaudhry Muhammad Irfan has stressed the need to equip Pakistan’s youth with practical knowledge of governance, institutional procedures, communication skills, and political leadership so that they can contribute effectively to the country’s socio-economic development.

Speaking at an interactive session with a delegation of Youth Parliament Pakistan (YPP), led by Osama Nadeem Qureshi, Chairman Youth Parliament on Tuesday, he stated that young people require familiarity with public institutions and essential skills for communication, engagement, and issue resolution through proper channels.

Chaudhry Muhammad Irfan appreciated the YPP initiative aimed at developing informed, confident, and responsible future leaders and assured ICCI’s support for such constructive youth-oriented programs.

Osama Nadeem Qureshi, Chairman Youth Parliament Pakistan, explained that Youth Parliament Pakistan, a project of the Institute of Political Trainings Pakistan, focuses on political awareness, leadership development, and practical training among young individuals. This includes communication skills, departmental visits, and political and leadership training to bridge the gap between academic education and practical governance understanding.

He emphasized the importance of young people understanding government department functions, their procedures, and proper citizen engagement channels.

ICCI Executive Member Muhammad Zulqurnain Abbasi also appreciated the initiative, highlighting the significance of connecting youth with institutions and business organizations. He suggested that sustained interaction between YPP and ICCI could offer participants valuable insights into economic institutions, the business environment, and Pakistan’s development process.

He added that this awareness would enable youth to engage more confidently with public and private sector entities.

The group proposed organizing an inauguration ceremony for the political training program within the next three to four weeks, inviting a senior political personality as the chief guest. They also discussed establishing a structured mechanism for quarterly awareness and practical training sessions in collaboration with ICCI to ensure continuity and long-term impact.

ICCI Executive Member Chaudhry Mohammad Waseem shared his views on strengthening youth engagement and institutional learning.
