IUB Approves Rs. 9.37 Billion Budget for FY 2026-27
BAHAWALPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 19, 2026) The Finance and Planning Committee of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, has approved an estimated budget of approximately Rs. 9.379 billion for the financial year 2026-27.
During the meeting, Treasurer Dr. Tariq Mahmood Shaikh presented the university’s financial estimates and budget proposals before the committee. After detailed discussions, the budget was approved without any objections. Officials informed the committee that despite efforts to ensure prudent financial management and efficient resource utilization, IUB is expected to face a budget deficit of around Rs. 541 million during the upcoming fiscal year.
The approved budget allocates significant funds to the university’s academic, research, and development priorities:
- Ongoing and new research initiatives
- Campus development projects
- Employee and student welfare programs
- Scholarships for deserving students
The committee was briefed on IUB’s financial requirements and development priorities, with members emphasizing the need for effective resource management, financial discipline, and timely utilization of allocated funds to support academic and research activities.
