Japan Provides Grant Assistance for Local NGO’s Transportation Project
The Government of Japan has announced a generous grant of up to USD 55,734 (equivalent to PKR 15.5 million) to a local NGO in Karachi for the purchase of a new school bus. This assistance is part of the Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) initiative.
Grant Signing Ceremony
The GGP grant contract was signed between Consul General of Japan in Karachi, HATTORI Masaru, and Habiba Habib, President of the Institute of Behavioral Psychology (IBP) School of Special Education. The additional school bus will benefit 30 students with special needs, ensuring they can access education, vocational training, and therapeutic services safely and reliably.
Impact and Benefits
This project aims to remove barriers for students with psychological and physical challenges who currently struggle with lengthy travel arrangements. It also supports the families of these students by enabling them to pursue socio-economic opportunities while their children are in school.
Consul General HATTORI expressed his belief that this GGP assistance would bring significant social benefits and contribute to Pakistan’s long-term economic development. The Government of Japan continues to offer flexible support to local NGOs through grant programs, focusing on improving the overall well-being of the Pakistani people.
