Karachi Police Ordered To Intensify Action Against Street Crime, Organised Criminal Elements

Karachi Police have been directed by Additional Inspector General of Police – Karachi, Azad Khan, to step up their efforts against various forms of crime, including:

  • Street crime
  • Murder
  • Robbery
  • Drug trafficking
  • Vehicle theft
  • Organised crime

This directive was issued during a meeting on crime prevention at the Karachi Police Office on Tuesday, according to a news release. The meeting was attended by senior police officers, including the DIG Administration, DIG CIA, zonal DIGs, district SSPs, and SPs Investigation.

During the meeting, zonal DIGs presented detailed reports on crime situations in their respective zones, police measures, and strategies to combat criminal activities. The Karachi police chief reviewed progress in significant cases, the arrest of proclaimed and absconding accused persons, and measures to curb crime.

Khan emphasised the need for effective policing to safeguard citizens’ lives and property. He directed officers to accelerate operations against criminal elements and implement a concrete and effective strategy to tackle street crime, drug-related offences, vehicle theft, and other organised crimes.
