No visit by the chief minister or prime minister is private, nor do they take holidays, according to Punjab government spokesperson Kausar Kazmi.
A debate has emerged regarding Maryam Nawaz’s trip to London for her daughter's graduation, her use of an official aircraft, and claims of a private holiday.
On a talk show, Mansoor Ali Khan and Kausar Kazmi, Punjab government spokesperson, discussed the visit:
Mansoor Ali Khan: Since Maryam Nawaz went to London as chief minister, has she held any formal meeting there for Punjab? If I say that she had some secret meetings, would it be correct?
Kausar Kazmi: If you think she sat at home in London before her daughter’s graduation ceremony and did nothing, that is not correct. As for the secret meetings, you may say that—I am not saying it. No visit by a chief minister or prime minister is private, nor do they have any holidays, even if they personally say so. The aircraft she traveled in belongs to the Punjab government.
Mansoor Ali Khan, concluding the discussion, highlighted the contradiction between official narratives and reality, emphasizing that the nature of the visit—private or official—is a crucial point.
