PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Aug, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Fazal Shakoor Khan, chaired an important meeting regarding the division of departmental affairs, sub-divisions, offices and staff of PHED between Swat and Upper Swat districts.

The meeting was attended by secretary PHED, Masood Younis, Chief Engineers, Director Technical and other concerned officers.

The gathering reviewed in detail various aspects of the reorganization of the department’s affairs and administrative structure in context of the administrative division of Swat district. In light of the notification issued by the Senior Member board of Revenue (SMBR), the meeting examined the tehsils and union councils included in Swat and Upper Swat.

Detailed discussions took place on the allocation of PHED offices, sub-divisions, Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) and other staff within these two administrative units.

Various suggestions were also thoroughly discussed to ensure the effective functioning of administrative and technical affairs of PHED in Swat and Upper Bar Swat as well as the timely provision of safe drinking water and other PHE services to the populace.

The minister instructed the relevant authorities to finalize the administrative arrangements for the effective functioning of departmental affairs and ensure that the necessary notification be issued promptly. He emphasized that the administrative reorganization must not cause any disruption in the provision of PHED services. "The concerned officers should take effective measures to further improve the provision of safe drinking water and other basic facilities to the people," he added.

He issued further directives stipulating that under the new administrative setup, offices, officers and staff should be distributed appropriately ensuring continuity of departmental efficiency and public service delivery in both units.
