Meeting Reviews Arrangements for 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH)

SUKKUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Aug, 2026) A meeting to review preparations for 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) took place at the District Council Hall, Sukkur, chaired by Vice Chairman District Council Sukkur, Akhtar Khan Mahar, on Tuesday. Chairman District Council Sukkur, Syed Kumail Hyder Shah, participated virtually.

Attended by numerous Town Chairmen, Union Committee Chairmen, health officials, municipal corporation and district council officers, local government representatives, religious scholars, scouts, and relevant government department officers, the meeting addressed the festivities surrounding Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

Chairman Syed Kumail Hyder Shah emphasized the importance of celebrating the occasion in a spirit of unity, religious harmony, love, and brotherhood, with the cooperation of all schools of thought, religious leaders, and institutions. He highlighted the goal of establishing an exemplary atmosphere of peace and brotherhood in the city, conveying a positive message of love, tolerance, and religious harmony.

He directed the following:

  • Ensuring the presence of ambulances and fire brigade vehicles on all routes of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) processions.
  • Implementing strict security measures, utilizing CCTV cameras, and making arrangements for surveillance at entry and exit points of the city.
  • Preparing a comprehensive contingency plan for managing traffic flow and providing adequate parking and car lifting facilities.
  • Enhancing cleanliness and street lighting in the city, ensuring a smooth experience for those attending the celebrations.

Vice Chairman Akhtar Khan Mahar echoed the call for mutual cooperation among government institutions, local body representatives, religious scholars, and social organizations to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with grandeur, peace, and brotherhood. He mentioned the setup of Sabeel stalls and instructed all municipal, district council, and town employees to prioritize cleanliness in their respective areas.

The meeting addressed several concerns raised by residents, particularly related to cleanliness, load-shedding, street lighting, and security, with the Vice Chairman providing immediate solutions.
