National Climate Exhibition 2026: Stressing the Role of Youth in Climate Action

ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) The Pak Mission Society (PMS) hosted the National Climate Exhibition and Advocacy Dialogue 2026, focused on Youth-Led Climate Solutions for a Resilient Pakistan.

This event, supported by Kindernothilfe (KNH) and Germany’s BMZ, brought together a diverse group, including:

  • Government representatives
  • Parliamentarians
  • Policymakers
  • Climate experts
  • Academia
  • Civil society
  • Development partners
  • Private sector representatives
  • Young climate leaders

The purpose was to display innovative climate solutions and enhance youth participation in climate policy and decision-making.

Key Highlights:

  • Chief Programme Officer of Pak Mission Society, Mr. Wakeel Ahmed Khan, praised the achievements of the Child-Driven Climate Action (CDCA) Project.
  • Khan emphasized the growing role of children and youth in promoting climate awareness, advocacy, and action.
  • He highlighted how young people are leading campaigns, participating in plantation drives, and fostering sustainable practices in schools.
  • Khan stressed the importance of empowering children with knowledge and skills for a climate-resilient future.

The programme featured:

  • Keynote speeches from the Director General of Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) and the CEO of Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC).
  • A presentation by Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change & Environmental Protection.
  • Exhibits showcasing CDCA achievements and Green Club initiatives.
  • A high-level panel discussion on "Empowering Youth for Climate Leadership, Innovation, Green Jobs & Entrepreneurship" with experts from various fields.

The event concluded with the presentation of the Five Youth Climate Demands, developed through the CDCA Project.
