Petrol and Diesel Prices Increase by Up to Rs6.47 Per Litre

The government has increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs5.77 and Rs6.47 per litre, respectively, effective August 18. According to a press release from the Petroleum Division on Monday, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices under the updated petroleum pricing mechanism.

The price of HSD has risen from Rs383.95 to Rs390.42 per litre, a total increase of Rs6.47. Similarly, the cost of motor spirit (petrol) has been raised from Rs325.43 to Rs331.20 per litre, amounting to an Rs5.77 hike.

Remember that these changes are subject to the revised petroleum pricing mechanism.
